Putin’s Russia: Global Security & International Relations

August 11, 2021 at 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm

U.S.-Russia relations were at a low point when Presidents Biden and Putin met in Geneva in June. President Biden had a long list of grievances from Ukraine to election interference and to Russia-based ransomware attacks. Russia included the U.S. in a list of โ€œunfriendly nations.โ€ Neither country had an Ambassador at its embassy in the otherโ€™s capital.

Join the World Affairs Council of Atlanta on August 11 at 12 PM ET as Dr. Fiona Hill, former Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs at the National Security Council (2017-19), now Senior Fellow at Brookings, joins them to discuss U.S.-Russia relations, including arms control, cyberattacks, and information warfare.

Dr. Hill, one of the nationโ€™s top Russia experts, became a household name with her crisp, dispassionate testimony in the November 2019 impeachment hearings.

Co-author of Mr. Putin: Operative in the Kremlin, Dr. Hill will discuss what motivates Vladimir Putin and give her advice on how to deal with Russia while keeping the strategic focus on China.
