Shared Border, Shared Fight: Canada on #BLM

June 18, 2020 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Since the killing of George Floyd on Memorial Day, the United States has been immersed in protests and demonstrations centered on Black Lives Matter.
As a diplomat who is a guest in the U.S., Nadia Theodore brings a foreign perspective into our domestic fixation and will help us understand how this looks to a foreigner. As a Canadian diplomat who has involved herself deeply since her arrival with issues of race and gender in the U.S., Consul General Theodore sees the impact on the thousands of people with whom she has worked. As the daughter of St. Lucian immigrants to Canada, Nadia Theodore lives this debate.
Join on Thursday for a conversation with Nadia Theodore, the Consul General of Canada in Atlanta at noon for a Canadian take on #BLM.
As a courtesy to the community, this program is OPEN TO ALL.
The World Affairs Council of Atlanta thanks Pendleton Group for sponsoring this program.
*Registration required. Zoom details will be sent the morning of the program*
