Georgia companies may announce job openings for free on the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT)’s online international trade job bank, announced the Atlanta chapter of the national organization last week.
OWIT’s Washington D.C. chapter, Women in International Trade (WIIT), hosts the web site which allows any viewer to see a list of current international trade job opportunities.
To view job details, however, a person must become a member of the Atlanta Women in International Trade (AWIT) and obtain an user id and a password.
Employers who are not AWIT members and who have a job opening can have the position posted by calling Ronelle Genser of Genser International Consulting, AWIT’s job bank coordinator.
AWIT members can post job openings directly on the web site and may sign up to receive electronic mail automatically notifying them of new listings when they are posted.
Most of the postings to date have originated from WIIT’s 700 members, resulting in a concentration of the listings to be jobs relating to economic policy, Ms. Genser told GlobalFax in a telephone interview. She added, however, that she expects a wide variety of internationally-related jobs will be posted in due course.
AWIT was founded in 1989 and is composed of men and women who are professionally employed and/or involved in international trade.
For membership information, call Noreen Field of Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems at (770) 494-5171, or Bobbye Waddell of Wilson UTC at (770) 996-9998. Ms. Genser may be reached at (404) 233-2474.
