Vicente Fox, the former Mexican president known for his outspoken rhetoric and, recently, rebuttals of President Donald Trump’s pledges to get Mexico to pay for a border wall, is set to visit Atlanta in April.
Mr. Fox will be a featured speaker at Operation HOPE’s global forum April 10-12. The summit focuses on financial inclusion and in 2015 attracted former President Bill Clinton, among other prominent speakers.
This year’s attendees and presenters are expected to hail from 25 countries to discuss the theme of “Reimagining the Global Economy: Uplifting the Invisible Class.”
Mr. Fox, who won as an opposition candidate and served from 2000-06, is no stranger to Atlanta, having come here to speak at Emory University and in other forums. He’s also a former president of Mexico and Latin America for Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co. Mexico is Coke’s top market for per capita consumption of its products.
Recently, Mr. Fox has been back in the spotlight thanks to his unrelenting criticism of Mr. Trump.
