As part of a concerted effort to reach out to international alumni, the Georgia Institute of Technology is to hold a Latin American Homecoming in Atlanta from Oct. 23-25.

The LATAM celebration is to be an opportunity for recent graduates as well as those who haven’t been on campus for decades to reconnect with the university, Marta Garcia, who is heading up the outreach from Georgia Tech’s development office, told Global Atlanta.

A wide range of activities are being planned for what Ms. Garcia considers a celebration of the university’s historic relations in the hemisphere as well as its many current projects such as its logistics centers in Panama and Costa Rica.

Participants are to meet with Latin American faculty and students on Friday, Oct. 23. They also will have the opportunity to join guided tours of the campus to rekindle their memories of their attendance at Tech and see the many new facilities that have been built since their graduations.

On Saturday they are to attend a Georgia Tech-Florida State University football game to be proceeded by the Ramblin’ Reck Parade. The weekend is to end on Sunday with an overview of the activities of the Spanish Alumni Network.

The cost of the weekend with a football ticket is $180; without the ticket, $160.
