The following members of the board of directors of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States (GACC South)’s eastern region were re-elected to their positions for the 2001-2003 term during the chamber’s general meeting held in Asheville, N.C., April 20:

          Don Erwin, director of international development, Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, Birmingham, Ala.; Wolfgang Hartert, director of international sales, Siemens Automotive Corp., Gainesville, Ga., and J. Parrish McCormack, attorney at law at Hunton & Williams law firm and Kurt G. Waldthausen, president and CEO, Carolinas International Connection, both from Charlotte, N.C.

The following board members re-elected from Atlanta are Peter Halpaus, president, Freight Forwarders Inc., Atlanta; Thomas J. Harrold Jr., partner, Miller & Martin, and Harry E. Huff, area manager, passenger sales, Lufthansa German Airlines.

Thomas Beck, president and CEO of the chamber, also is a member of the board. Dieter Elsner, partner, Rodl Langford de Kock LLP, Atlanta, and Jan Heilbut, vice president, SAL USA Inc., Houston, will complete the second half of their terms as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

The board members re-elected to the board from the chamber’s western region, which is based in Houston, are W. Paul Andersson, senior partner, Leake, Andersson & Mann, New Orleans, and Andreas Knobloch, senior vice president, business development, Krupp Uhde Corp. of America, Houston. Annemarie Koehlmos, senior vice president and CFO of SICS Management Consulting, Coppell, Texas, was elected to the board for the first time.
