The Atlanta-based German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. Inc. has named a new president and CEO from within its ranks.
Martina Stegmeier, who has worked at the chamber for more than six years, will take the helm March 1, being promoted from a vice president position.
Ms. Stegmeier replaces Kristian Wolf, who left in November to become executive director of the chamber’s counterpart in Sydney.
Mr. Wolf, who had been with the chamber for a decade, noted that the organization prides itself on being a place where young talent can be developed.
A Munich native, Ms. Stegmeier joined the chamber in 2004 as a trainee in the consulting services department. She worked her way up to director of consulting services in 2008 and vice president in 2010. During that time, she earned a master’s of business administration from Emory University.
The announcement of Ms. Stegmeier’s new position came in an emailed letter from Martin Richenhagen, chairman, president and CEO of AGCO Corp., who chairs the chamber’s board.
She has been “in incredible asset, constantly challenging herself and her colleagues to reach new goals and keep the GACC South striving,” Mr. Richenhagen wrote.
