The Georgia Department of Economic Development is seeking to recognize intrepid exporters who entered new international markets during pandemic-plagued 2020 for its annual GLOBE Awards.
The awards — an acronym that stands for Georgians Leveraging Opportunities By Exporting — honor companies that have entered a new country in the preceding year.
Nominations for the Jan. 1 – Dec. 31 period from last year are due by Nov. 1.
Starting last year and continuing into this year, the form includes an opportunity for companies to be designated “Exporter of the Year” in each of three size categories: small, medium and large company.
Since its inception seven years ago, the GLOBE Awards have recognized 195 companies from 48 counties, including 31 last year. Some 84 percent of winners have been companies with fewer than 100 employees. Read more about last year’s winners on Global Atlanta here.
