A group of 10 companies from the Belgian region of Flanders will touch down in Atlanta April 20-24, with the goal of showcasing Flemish excellence in a range of sectors, from metals to software.

The core of the program will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, with the Flanders Investment and Trade, or FIT, office in Atlanta taking the lead on organizing engagements in partnership with the Consulate General of Belgium.

Flanders is one of three federal regions of Belgium, along with Wallonia in the south and the Brussels metro area. Along the border with the Netherlands in the country’s north, the Dutch-speaking region has long had its own office promoting economic ties with Atlanta.

About half of the visiting companies, gathered in part by the Limburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are involved information technology, with solutions in supply chain, roof and facade measurement, fare collection for transit systems and management of fiber networks, among others.

Other sectors represented include an aluminum supplier (Reynaers) with offices in Toronto and Charlotte, along with modular steel buildings (Briam) and sound-proofing (Silent Walls).
