Hyundai Glovis Georgia, an auto logistics services provider, is moving to a new 310,000-square-foot facility in West Point, Ga., and is set to hire 190 over four years to support expanded operations.
The sum of the new investment was not disclosed. The Korean company already has a location in West Point serving the Kia Motors plant there.
Glovis leaders will work with a subcontractor to build the new facility in the Northwest Harris Business Park, where they will design a sequencing and sub-assembly process to distribute components to the multitude of Kia and Hyundai suppliers spread throughout western Georgia and eastern Alabama.
The company received a $200,000 REBA grant from the state to open the new facility.
Announced investment in Georgia’s automotive sector grew by 149 percent during fiscal year 2014, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Half of the Korean investment in Georgia during the period was in the auto sector.
