India’s new commercial and political affairs representative in the Southeast has only been in Atlanta three months, but he already sees “huge potential” for growth in investment and trade.

Georgia has some of the largest Fortune 500 companies here and rightfully we have a lot of Indian-Americans here. It’s a big number, and there is a huge potential,” said R. Srinivasan, who arrived in August from a posting at India’s mission to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

If companies have problems with their Indian investments, the Indian consulate in Atlanta mainly focuses on putting them in touch with the right government counterparts rather than getting too heavily involved. Similarly, it does little to explicitly recruit investment, preferring to back private-sector organizations in their events.
