Jeffrey Sprecher, founder and chairman of IntercontinentalExchange Inc., which operates exchanges and trading platforms for investors, will speak at the Technology Association of Georgia‘s annual awards ceremony.

Mr. Sprecher will share his insights on building his company at the Excalibur Awards on Oct. 21, which recognize Georgia technology companies for their achievements.

He started the company in 2000 in an attempt to create a transparent and efficient market structure for energy commodity trading. It has expanded beyond energy products and has offices in Chicago, Houston, New York, London, Singapore and Calgary, Canada.

He was recognized by Futures magazine as one of the 25 most influential people of 2010 and in the same year his business was named the fastest growing company in financial services by Fortune magazine.
