Paul Steinfeld, co-managing director of the Steinfeld Consultancy and the honorary consul for Slovenia, has been re-elected as chairman of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce for 2000-2001.
Mr. Steinfeld was president of Shelby Williams Inc., a manufacturer of furniture for the hospitality industry, until he started his own firm last year. His consulting firm provides strategic planning, merger and acquisition and venture capital services.
The following officers also have been re-elected: Mark Braunstein, CEO of Patient Care Technologies, chairman-elect; Aleksander Szlam, chairman of e-Share Technologies, vice chairman; Charles Gantz, partner, Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan, secretary; Andre Schnabel, partner, Grant Thornton, treasurer.
Larry Cooper, CEO of Bentley Investments, has been elected vice chairman for the first time.
Tom Glaser continues to serve as the chamber’s president and chief professional officer. Joining the chamber’s executive committee are Steve Berman, president, OA Development; Lorin Coles, senior vice president, strategic alliances, iXL; Firooz Israel, vice president, Lockwood Greene and David Zalik, CEO, Outweb.
New members of the chamber’s board of directors include Eli Barak, vice president, Pivotal Corp.; Sherman A. Cohen, partner, Arnall, Golden & Gregory; Mitchell Kopelman, partner, Habif, Argoti & Wynne; Doug Marchand, executive director, Georgia Ports Authority; David I. As the new director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Steven Rakitt joins the executive committee and board as an ex-officio director. Israel’s new consul general to the Southeast, Jacob Rosen, also becomes an ex-officio director.
The American-Israel Chamber of Commerce is a bi-national trade association with the mission of promoting investment and trade between the Southeast and Israel.
