Keegan Federal & Associates, a local law firm specializing in spinal injury cases and business litigation, has added Kazuma Sonoda Jr., ex-president of the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association, to its team of attorneys.

Mr. Sonoda was previously deputy director of the Metropolitan Division of Defense of Conflicts in Georgia’s Office of Council of Public Defender Policy.

Mr. Sonoda has seven years of experience in litigation and community service, including as member of the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association’s board of directors and member of Legal Services of Georgia.

In his new position, Mr. Sonoda will work on cases of catastrophic injuries and commercial litigation, focusing on the Hispanic community.

Born in Miami to a Japanese father and Colombian mother, Mr. Sonoda is bilingual in Spanish and English. He received his law degree from Emory University in 2000.
