Duluth-based NCR Corp. has purchased three companies in Brazil in a bid to expand its presence in the country.
NCR, which makes ATMs and payment terminals, acquired POS Integrated Solutions, a reseller of NCR’s Aloha restaurant technology, and Wyse Sistemas de Informática Ltda., a provider of hospitality software.
The company also purchased Radiant Distribution Solutions, a NCR hospitality hardware distribution partner, according to a June 21 news release.
The terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The company said that it sees great potential in Brazil’s hospitality sector, particularly with the country set to host the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
“Brazil is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, and its rapidly expanding middle class is driving tremendous growth for hospitality businesses,” said Tad Phelps, NCR’s vice president of hospitality sales for the Americas.
NCR has reached several other deals with Brazilian companies in recent years, including a buyout arrangement with Scopus Tecnologia Ltda. last year to add as many as 30,000 ATMs in the country.
