A new partnership with Shanghai Anmao Information Technology Co. enables Duluth-based NCR Corp. to become in China “a one-stop-shop for all things related to consumer transactions in retail,” according to its retail general manager in China.
Gerald Huang, the general manager, said in an April 9 announcement that Chinese retailers want to have advanced and flexible store automation technologies of the sort NCR produces.
“With a national sales force dedicated to retail and its various market segments, Anmao is the perfect complement to expand NCR software, hardware and services throughout China,” Mr. Huang added.
James Zhang, general manager of Anmao, was equally positive about the partnership, saying that his company will be providing local experience, expertise and knowledge of the local market required for a “go-to-market strategy.”
The partnership calls for Anmao to be NCR’s reseller for the full range of NCR point-of-sale solutions. The announcement cites Retail Banking Research’s forecast that by 2016 China’s installed base of electronic point-of-sale (POS) technology is to double.
In addition to its retail market presence, NCR provides consumer transaction technologies for the financial, hospitality and travel industries in China.
It also operates a manufacturing plant in Beijing and is the leading automated teller machine provider in the country.
