The Third National Convention of the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce, including 39 chapters from throughout the United States, will convene in Atlanta this week.
A Welcome to Atlanta reception will be hosted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia at the Atlanta Hilton downtown, which will serve as the headquarters site of the meeting.
The convention will include several sessions on a variety of topics relating to estate planning, small business practices and innovative thinking as well as elections of the federation’s new officers. The elections will occur Friday afternoon, May 15.
Antonio Basilio, the deputy ambassador from the Philippines to the U.S., will induct the new officers at a celebratory ball to be held Saturday night, May 16. Since national elections are to be held in the Philippines Tuesday, May 12, the deputy ambassador is expected to provide some insight into their outcome at the ball.
While hotel accommodations must be paid separately, the cost of the convention is $150, which covers all meals on Friday and Saturday. The cost of the ball to be held at the Atlanta Hilton is $50.
