In commemoration of its 70th anniversary, South African Airways Ltd. is giving away 30 pairs of roundtrip tickets. Every day between July 1 and July 30 a winner, to be drawn from entries on SAA’s Web site, will receive two economy-fare, roundtrip tickets from the United States to South Africa.
“There is no better way to celebrate South African Airways’ longevity and success than to invite people to experience what we do best – taking people in style and comfort to the wonders of Africa,” Mark Ellinger, executive vice president of SAA, Americas, said in an announcement.
SSA, in partnership with Delta Air Lines Inc., provides non-stop flights to South Africa, with daily departures from Atlanta and New York. Founded in 1934, SAA launched its first international flight in 1944 when 14 passengers flew from Blackbushe, England, to South Africa aboard a converted bomber.
Beginning July 1, U.S. residents can register for the “70 Years in Aviation” give-away by visiting South African Airways’ Web site at http://www.flysaa.com and selecting the United States from the menu of countries. A pop-up window will then invite visitors to register.
Registration for the drawings is limited to one entry per person. Ticket winners must be 18 years of age.
