Pamela A. Joseph, who served as vice chairman of U.S. Bancorp’s payment services division before retiring last year, has joined TSYS’ (Total System Services), board of directors.

Ms. Joseph is to assume he company’s executive leadership team as president and chief operating officer effective May 1. Columbus, Ga.-based TSYS is a credit card processor, merchant acquirer and bank credit cart issuer with local offices spread across the world.

Before retiring in June 2015, Ms. Joseph had served as vice president of U.S. Bancorp’s payment services division since December 2004.

She also had served since November of last year as chairman and chief executive officer of Elavon, Inc., formerly NOVA a processor of credit card transactions and a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp with merchant processing in more than 30 countries.

At U.S. Bancorp, she had executive responsibility for all electronic payment product lines including consumer credit, debit, small business, prepaid, corporate, purchasing and feet card programs and global acquiring.

Before joining Elavon in 1994, she also served with Visa International as director of new market development.

She currently serves on the board of directors of TransUnion, Paychex, and Centene Corp. She also chairman of Women Leaders in Action, a nonprofit organization that helps educate young women in Africa and is a member of the board of trustees of Spelman College.
