Atlanta-based United Parcel Service Inc. recently gave the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce a $50,000 grant that will be used to open the chamber’s first satellite office in Clayton County, as well as four other offices in North Georgia providing business education to Hispanics.

Sara Gonzalez, president of the chamber, made the announcement at last week’s quarterly chamber meeting, held at the Atlanta law firm of Alston & Byrd LLP. This grant is the second time UPS has financially supported a chamber project, she said.

In addition to the Clayton County office, branches will open in Athens, Augusta, Dalton and Gainesville that will educate Hispanics on the basics of business management.

The Georgia Hispanic Chamber promotes economic development of Hispanic businesses and professionals, and serves as a link between Georgia and Latin American busnesses.
