Vensai Technologies Inc., an Atlanta-based information technology firm, is set to expand its operations in India with the opening of a new development center in the city of Hyderabad.

Although the company already has operations in Visakhapatnam, a port city on the southeastern coast of India, the new office will enhance its abillity to outsource work for U.S. companies while expanding local sales, according to a July 31 news release.

The planned expansion follows private research by the International Data Corp. predicting growth between 9 and 15 percent in private and government spending for software and information technology consulting services in the United States alone in 2013, according to Vensai.

The company hopes to meet this demand with offshore “delivery centers,” which will service its customers, mostly U.S. health care and logistics companies, with their software development and IT needs, said Srinivasa Nimmagadda, Vensai’s chief executive officer, in a statement.

“With solid sales growth in 2011 and the first half of 2012, Vensai is focused on developing additional delivery capacity to service our clients’ growing need for specialized IT services from our global delivery centers in India,” he said.

In the past few months, Vensai has also announced plans to open sales offices in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
