The Cold War ended with a burst of U.S.-Russia goodwill. But President Putin rewrites the terms of the end of the Cold War with interventions in Crimea, Ukraine and Syria. International economics sanctions hamper the Russian economy, but not enough to disrupt Putinโs ability to play a bad hand well in 2016. The U.S. Intelligence Community has concluded that Russia interfered in the U.S. presidential election while the incoming Trump Administration looks to change the U.S.-Russia relationship from enmity to cooperation despite such findings.
